Testing out Aromaleigh's Glissade foundation and FOTD

The original plan for today was to move the rest of my stuffs from old place to new place.
But, due to what happened in the last 2 days and I've got confirmation from the guy I rent the pick up that he won't be available today, so I decided today will just do another sorting out of the small stuffs in the storage room of my old place.

I know I will be sweating and messy when doing the things cos the stuffs are dusty, but I decided to put on my make up. One thing was because I wanted to try Aromaleigh's Glissade foundation, and another thing was just to uplift my mood which was not good.

Early in the morning, I've tested the shades of Glissade sample first using a method from Youtube.Com.
The samples I bought are: Glissade 1N, 2N, 3N, 2C.

After test, I found that the shades that is close to my skin are 2N and 3N, but my sister said 3N is better.

What it said in Aromaleigh website about these products:
1. GLISSADE

Glissade looks just like you'd expect any mineral foundation to appear- a fine, loose powder... however, when you begin to apply it, you begin to feel a smooth, luxurious, gliding, silky feeling on your skin... application is effortless... the powder glides over your skin and melds with your own skin tone yielding the appearance of perfection. It's "Your Skin... Only Better" (TM).

In addition to it's emollient and buffering effects, Glissade offers similar benefits as our regular matte foundation powder, "Voilé". It is very finely milled and silky and contains Zinc Oxide, for full spectrum UVA/UVB protection. Glissade and Voilé also offer excellent coverage and skin adherence, and an expanded color palette! Glissade and Voilé also utilize advanced light-dispersing and skin-smoothing pigment technology.

What does "Glissade" mean? "Glissade" (pronounced glee-sod) is a French word typically found in the ballet studio... it defines a smooth, gliding connecting step in ballet choreography. But when it comes to your skin, "Glissade" is all about the smooth, gliding sensation of the foundation powder effortlessly blending with your skin!

My comment: Ahhh, no wonder it blends nicely and can cover my zits (see picture below)

2. Porcelaine Oil Control Mattifying Primer Powder

Porcelaine Oil Control Mattifying Primer Powder is a Magnesium-based translucent primer powder which is finely milled with a creamy feel. A thin layer of Porcelaine applied to your problem areas can greatly help in keeping your image of perfection... all day long.

Some magnesium-based oil control powders are stark white and although they are translucent, this can product a chalky effect on darker skintones. Porcelaine alleviates this problem by offering neutrally tinted translucent powders in light-medium , medium and medium-deep. We suggest that you try samples in at least 2 of these tones to find the best match for you. After applying Porcelaine, you will see that it melds with your skin and provides an invisible canvas on which you will apply your Aromaleigh Voil or Glissade or Pure Cover. We suggest that you use a smooth non-latex sponge or flocked sponge to apply.

3. Ultra Resolution Finishing Powder

Helps to reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and imperfections. Light as a feather, you'll barely know that you've applied Ultra-Resolution Finishing Powder. It glides effortlessly over your skin like silk in a smooth, even layer. Application is a breeze! It's so soft, smooth and silky that you'll adore the way that it feels on your skin... and as a final step to your mineral makeup routine.

So here's my FOTD, very simple one:
Face:
The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Moisture Lotion SPF 15

Earthen Glow Minerals Foundation: Cover Me, Medium shades

I'm curious what will be my shade if I use Cover Me Foundation from Earthen Glow Minerals which is the heavy coverage foundation.
I have bought samples of Youthful Glow, the medium coverage foundation. But EGM has different names for different type of coverage, so I must check out the shade myself.
It's different from, for example Everyday Minerals, which has same name for foundation shade, although it has different formula.

I picked up colors which resembles my shade. Those which are not in my shade, I put aside.

Here's the first group (no flash):

Testing result: I match with Whitley, Bobbie, June, and Randall

The second group (with flash):

Oops, sorry for the bad resolution. From left to right: Deannie, Yuan, Kay Lee, Sheila, Sheena

From left to right: Moliehic, Roselyn

I hope the swatches helps you when choosing the right shade of EGM's Cover Me Foundation.

Gypsy Look for office fancy dinner party

The theme of our dinner party at kick off meeting in Hua Hin, Thailand was fancy party (Nov 29, 2009). So everyone can wear fancy outfit or costumes. Maybe because we were not that too far from Halloween?

From Indonesia office, we decided to have our own theme, which was wearing batik. The ladies wore Batik skirt and with other style creation, while the gentlemen wore Batik pants with Kabayan theme.

As this was my first costume party, I really wanted to look differently.
I decided to go with Gypsy Look. Well..... Before the team made decision about the final theme, I was thinking to rent West Sumatera outfit, but there was no big size outfit for me and with the lengthy time of traveling, the cost of rent will be expensive!
I was thinking to borrow long curly wig from a friend of mine, but I didn't have time to pick it up at my friend's house.

Here's how I looked like that night:

I can still cover my head with headscarf.
White ruffle blouse, bought at JACC Tanah Abang, Rp 60K
Batik skirt, bought at JACC Tanah Abang, Rp 65K
Beads, vintage from my late mom's collection
Hoop earrings, bought at Poins Square Lebak Bulus, Rp 35K
Red roman slippers, Charles & Keith, Malaysia, RM 59.40
Blue soft lens

And......for the make up look, I finally had a chance to try Meow's Halloween Collection.

I made a research in internet for gypsy look make up and gypsy style, I even inspired to wear fake eyelashes....lol.

I found this tutorial on doing gypsy look and wearing falsies in Youtube.

Here's what I used:

FACE & CHEEKS
- Everyday Minerals base, Medium Beige, Matte. Wet application. This is the darkest base I have, I choose it because of the recommendation I read from Internet: darker tone and bronzing.
- The All Natural Face hydration mist in Patchouli for spraying the base foundation and for finishing
- Everyday Minerals face powder, Finishing Dust
No concealer needed, and with wet application of the base, it really helped to cover my blemishes.
- Earthen Glow Minerals, Bermuda Bronzer
- NYX Mosaic Powder Blush in MPB10

EYES
Aromaleigh lip & eye primer
Lumiere shimmer in cola, foiled (no.1)
Meow's Halloween, Dead of Night, foiled (no.2)
Meow's Halloween, Horror (no.3)
Meow's Friday the 13th, Supernatural (no.4)
Aromaleigh gel eye liner in Magnetism
NYX Doll mascara
Fake eye lashes
The Skin Food Choco Eyebrow Powder Cake

LIPS
Beaute de Kose, BE 314

From the final look, I can see that I need to have more practise for blending the eye colors. It wasn't that smooth.

FOTD: Eid Adha look, natural one

As I was traveling in Kuala Lumpur, I spent Eid Adha there.
For the special day, I choose natural look using Aromaleigh's Eye Plush and Les Papillon's collection.
Alas, I didn't remember which colors I used, hehe..... Sorry.

The face was with Everyday Minerals base and finishing powder.
I wore NYX mosaic powder blush in MPB10, and the lips wore Majolica Majorca Rouge Majex in PK 313 which I bought at Megamall.

Hauls from Malaysia

I was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from Nov 23 to Nov 28, 2009.

Since I was staying in Boulevard hotel near Megamall in Midvalley, it was an opportunity to roam the mall for make up and skin care brand available.
I read Connie's blog for my reference.

It was a big haul for me, and quite damaging my credit card. LOL.
So here it is:

From Watson's, I purchased these:

Rimmel London:
1. Sexy Curves Full Volume & Curve Mascara, price RM 39.90
2. Moisture renew lipstick in Electric Plum, price RM 26.90

Majolica Majorca:
3. Lash Expander Frame Plus, price RM 39.90
How to use: apply first coat using the upper brush (see picture) then use lower brush for second coat.
4. Rouge Majex in PK 313, price RM 26.90
5. Jeweling Pencil (eyeliner) in BE208 (light brown) has glitter, price RM 20.90

Other products:
6. Bio Oil (www.bio-oil.com), 125 ml, price RM 54.80
This product helps to improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone, also good for ageing skin and dehydrated skin. It contains calendula, lavender, rosemary, and chamomile oil, and Purcellin Oil.
For treating the scar and stretch mark, we need to use it at least for 3 months.
I bought this because Fifi asked me to buy this for her and when I read the function, I thought I can use it too for my uneven face skin color.

- St. Ives Cucumber eye gel, RM 21.30 (not shown in the picture)
It's a big one, I think I won't need eye gel for a long time.

In other beauty store, I got these:
7. Dr. Young 2p Pearl Brightening Balm (BB) with SPF 35 PA ++, 30ml, price RM 49

8. Solegio Coenzyme Q10 hand cream, normal price was RM 22.90, but since I spent more than RM 50, the price reduced to RM 5. What a deal! If it's not that cheap, I won't considered buying it. The product is from Korea.

- Sunplay Watery Cool RM 26.90 for sun protection during my swim lesson (not shown in the picture)

ELIANTO's corner

Elianto is local brand, but the products are made in Korea.

On my first day of shopping, I bought these:
A. Green Tea lip & eye make up remover for all skin types. I almost run out of remover, so this will be my stock. It has other variants though, but I couldn't remember.
Price RM 18

B. Shimmer stick in light yellow. Plan to use this for eyeshadow base. Price RM 18

And on the last day in KL, I purchased:
C. Facial Cream Soap, contains green tea, price RM 29.
In the box, there's a small spatula to scoop the soap.

D. Pearl eye cream, for all skin types, to brighten the skin in eye area.price RM 20
There's ginseng eye cream for wrinkles. I didn't know which one to choose, but the beauty consultant suggested me to buy Pearl as she said I don't have wrinkles (awww.....)

E. Touch on Blush in Mocha Brownie, price RM 32
I like the applicator, it's cute.... How to apply: just swipe on cheek, not pat.

MAC Store

The most expensive stuffs I bought. MAC Paint Pot, RM 70 each, and I bought two!
The colors I picked were Bare Study and Fresco Rose. The pink color is pretty and Bare Study sure does can be used for all color base as it's in neutral color.
And definitely it's smudge proof. Difficult to wipe it clean. Can't compare it with Elianto's Shimmer Stick.

Well, those are the make up hauls, while other stuff I bought were Charles & Keith red Roman Sandal (normal price RM 99.90, disc. 40% RM 59.95), see picture here, and varieties of candies in KLIA for RM 74.70

Sick while traveling

I have been getting the coughing since last September. It's on and off. Sometimes it's just dry coughing, which hurt my throat. It's the ticklish feeling in the throat that made me cough.
Well..... I know the source of the problem..... It's because I keep staying up very late every night. I went to bed at 2 or 3 AM, sometimes I even didn't get sleep!

So, I had to travel on Nov 23 to Dec 1. I planned to see my physiotherapist before I went, but there are lots of things to do before the trip and I ended up not going for the treatment. I saw a doctor in a clinic near my house to get medication before the trip. He prescribed me two types of antibiotics for my coughing, a flu medication, and a medicine to take whenever I feel difficulty to breathe.

The coughing was still there before I went to Malaysia. Since I had the training in Malaysia, and I was online every night and went to sleep around 1 AM, I started to get the flu.
I did get some rest in my last day in KL.

It was a torture when I had to be in plane. The flight from KL to Bangkok was a start. I had headache at one side of my head, then my left ear was blocked. I tried to yawn and yawn, but it was difficult to make the ear free from blockage. It was painful!

The flu started in Hua Hin, Thailand. To make it worst, my asthma reoccurred and the constant coughing gave me back pain. I had short breathe. I couldn't do physical activities. I tried to hold on as we had meetings and team building rally.
In the last day of meeting, I couldn't hold it. I had another headache in one side of my head, yesterday was at left side, that day was right side and it's painful my eye couldn't be opened.
I asked the organizer to take me to a clinic. My medications have finished.
They took me to San Paulo Hospital. A missionary hospital. They checked my temperature and blood pressure. All were normal. The doctor gave me three medicines.
Oh man..... It cost a lot! I paid THB 2,969.
The price to pay when you are sick abroad.

Another thing happened after dinner in the the last night of our stay in Hua Hin (Nov 30). I had stomachache which caused me diarrhea. I was planning to shop at night market in that night, I only stayed 10 minutes there and decided to come back to hotel to poop.....
It was between the urge to poop that make me wanna run and the difficulty to breath. A contradiction indeed.
When I arrived in my room, I straight went to bath room. After poop, I took shower. Apply cajuputih oil all over my body to warm me up, and slept under my blankie. I was very very sick. I didn't bring medicine for this. Usually, I'd bring some first aid medicine.
In the next morning, I felt better, but I still had diarrhea.
It kept like that, but still controllable. Otherwise, I'd be in trouble because I was traveling back to Jakarta. In every terminal, I went to toilet and pee and poop. I didn't do that while I was in the plane.

Today, Dec 2, I stayed at home and just resting, sleeping the whole day through.

I don't like being sick when I'm travelling!

Bath and Body Products (Because I'm The Princess, BITP)

Last week I really had a big haul. From The All Natural Face packages, Afro*Scent*ric, then Because I'm The Princess (BITP)!.
Kelly packed my stuffs in such cute way (of course, I asked for it, hehe). She included a thank you card too....
I found the shop after I read a review from Nanzy. I love bath and body products, but I need to see more new stuffs, unique stuffs. Kelly has sooo many different scents in her catalog. When I saw "Food and Drink" scent category, I've just gotta click and saw the list.
So far, in my beauty products stash, I have scent of Vanilla and Chocolate. So when I saw lots of choices from BITP, I drooled.
I shopped at her store in Etsy.Com, unfortunately she didn't provide international shipping at Etsy, but I can order through Etsy and she informed me shipment charges to Jakarta, Indonesia. It's easier if you shop at Etsy because of the convo feature which allows you to communicate with the sellers. You can also order through her own website, though. She needs sometimes to create the products as she makes it fresh, turn around time 2-5 business days.

What did I order?

A. 1 - Princess Power Pack, consists of:

1 oz. Aloe Silk Body Mist, scent I chose: Santa's Workshop

1 oz. Royal Protein Hair Mist, scent I chose: Summer Lovin'

5 ml. Royal Roll-On, scent I chose: French Toast

B. 1 - 3 Pack Trial Size Royally Whipped Sugar Scrub

Scent I chose: Mango Milkshake, Pumpkinilla, Santa's Workshop

C. 1 - 2 oz. Royal Body Butta, I chose: Mango Milkshake

D. 2 - Royalty Roll Ons 5 ml. Glass Jojoba Oil Blend

I chose : Erotic Goddess, Sexy As Sin (Karma Sutra), and for free item: Caribbean Calypso. (there was a special offer, buy 2 get 1 free)

Plus..... additional free item, Royalty Roll Ons in Pink Sugar Type.

There are items that have matching scents because it's always better to layer the scent, it will strengthen the scent after application and lasts longer.

Sugar scrub & Body butta

About the scents:

Pink & Yellow FOTD using Les Papillons Collections and West Sumatera Wedding

OK, I have been waiting for this event to come, because it's time to dress up and to meet my big family members.
It's the wedding of my cousin's first daughter.
The dress I was wearing was not intended for the occassion, it was supposed to be another dress but my taylor couldn't finish it on time. The good news is, I got to use my Aromaleigh's Les Papillons collection... yay....!

So, here is the look
Face:

And on my sister, I choose colors that go with her outfit:
AL Les Papillons in golden chrysalis, inner lid

I didn't take a note on other products she was wearing.... We were in a hurry.

Aromaleigh's Les Papillons

Last but not least, look at the bride and groom's outfit. We are from West Sumatera. The bride is wearing different West Sumatera bride outfit, because her mother comes from Koto Gadang district. I should say the bride (a.k.a my niece) looked like a Pakistani or Indian bride :)

Her hands were dyed with some kind of hyenna. I could not get the picture of her hands.

West Sumatera culture is full of bright colors (read: RED and GOLD), and so was my niece make up.

Hmmm, it occurs to me to create the look with the influence of my home town.

Here's where they were seated. Cool huh?
