Beauty Reminder

Basic Skin Care Tips

* Don't wash your skin too often... Washing strips oil and moisture. Besides, tap water contains chlorine which causes oxidative damage. Washing your face twice a day is sufficient.
* Do not smoke... Smoking can cause the skin to age prematurely, as well as take on an unflattering sallow tone. Nicotine will reverse your anti aging routine quicker than anything else.
* Warm water over hot... When bathing choose warm water over hot. It is not as drying and is more natural.
* Get ample sleep... Most of the body's repair and rejuvenation occurs while you sleep.
* Follow a nightly regimen... Apply products 1 hour before bedtime to allow ample time to penetrate the skin.
* Exercise regularly... It increases the flow of nutrients and oxygen to the skin, which will give skin a natural, healthy glow.
* Choose products carefully... Everyone's skin is different, so try several to see which products work best for you and which produce an anti effect.
* Never sleep with makeup... Sleeping with makeup is not natural for your skin. It may also have an adverse effect with your anti aging routine.

Protect Skin from Air Pollution

* One should wash off the face and neck when come back to home from anywhere with a mild soap or medicated face wash for removing the dust, dirt and other elements from the skin.
* If one is going outdoors for very long time, make sure about the using of mild cleanser on the exposure areas.
* One can shield the face with use of foundation or moisturizer from the pollutants.

Acne Problem

* Use a facial wash with salicylic acid.
* Avoid gel cleansers (they can contain alcohol) and granulated scrubs, which strip the skin of oil, making it overcompensate and produce more.
* Treat affected areas If you have a blemish, dab on a spot corrector with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, which kills surface bacteria and dries oil. If you're prone to breakouts in a particular area (say, your chin), apply it to the entire zone daily to help prevent them.
* If skin is dry, apply a moisturizer with SPF 15 or higher. Choose one that contains an alpha-hydroxy acid like glycolic acid for a double benefit.

Keep Wrinkles Away

* Vitamin C is very effective to reduce wrinkles from the face. One should use Vitamin-C regularly.

* The L-Ascorbic acid is the main type of vitamin-C and found in lemons and oranges. This is very effective to protect skin from harmful rays. One can also take supplements of vitamin- C.

* In the market, large numbers of gels or creams available that contain L-Ascorbic acid. These products are very helpful to soak up free radicals made by pollution or exposure to sun.

Important tips for skin protection

* Wear a long hat or shirt with long sleeves before going under the sun.
* One should always apply sunscreen with SPF after swimming or reapply sunscreen lotions or gels every two hours, if one stays under the sunrays for long-term period.
* Avoid sun lamps and tanning booths.
* Choose a sun block that blocks sunrays.
* Some medications, such as prescription acne medications or birth control pills, can increase your sensitivity to the sun, so if you're taking medication, increase your sun protection.
* If you want the glow of a tan, try faking it with self-tanners or salon tanning treatments. Avoid tanning beds, though, because although manufacturers claim that tanning beds are free of UVB rays, they still use harmful UVA rays.
* Wear sunglasses. This will protect the eyes as well as the delicate skin around them. Take care in checking the products label and make sure they provide UVA and UVB protection.
