I ordered the foundation sample kit so I can pick the right color for my skin color.
All swatches are without flash.

These are too yellow for me

I'll test these colors

After the test, Whitney and Lydia have close match with my skin. Jude was OK, but I saw color change, maybe oxydized? The color was going darker on my skin.

My first Aromaleigh order!

I've been following Miss K in Facebook for sometime, and she doesn't stop updating the status with delicious news: weekly sales.....
Whattt? Weekly? Man, this will drain my credit card fast! The same problem I have with Meow is that she has new collections that someday will be discontinued.
She's got so many pretty pigments and I just need to have them. She's planning to discontinue some of her collection, but will keep 4-5 colors from each collection for The 2009 Best Color.
After that, she's ready to launch new colors.... Very creative mind she has.

So last night, when I got home, I saw a small envelope on the table. And it's my first Aromaleigh order!

I ordered one set of sample size of Les Pappilon collection. They are pretty!
I also ordered eye & lip primer, indelible gel eyeliner in MAGNETISM, and two eye brushes.
The gel eyeliner in Magnetism is beautiful. It's black but has golden shimmer. I wished I order more gel liner in different colors.
While the eye and lip primer has nice texture. I use the primer this morning, it has strong stay power. My eye lids were not as oily as usual, therefore the eyeshadow still looked nicely when I got home from work.
Product description, left: gel eye liner, right: eye n lip primer
Ingredients
Swatch

I got to pick three free samples, Miss K added sample of color infusion lipstick in Perfect.

Enjoy the haul. I definitely gonna use Les Papillon colors this weekend for my niece's wedding reception.....

2009 Halloween Collection from Meow

This cat is really purrfect, hehe......
They come out with new collection every now and then. They have new collections, then they keep them in endangered collection after sometimes :)

I ordered Meow's 2009 Halloween Collection early October and received the package two weeks later. The collections consist of Dance of Death and Friday the 13th! I also received three samples from Meow.
I just ordered sample size instead of full size. The problem is, Dance of Death only lasted til Oct 31, while Friday the 13th will still be obtained every Friday the 13th, got it?

Please enjoy the haul. I haven't got a chance to make swatch or play with them.

By the way, I organize my sample size pigments in a business card binder. An idea I read from Aromaleigh forum.

A week later, I decided to order Meow's foundation and face powder. I also added some colors from their new collection, Egyptian Treasures. The package hasn't arrived yet.

Something wrong with this FOTD?

I tried new technique to apply mineral make up foundation. It's a wet technique where you spritz on water to the brush then dip the brush to the base powder.
I use my home made facial spritz, the recipe was from Everyday Minerals forum.

For this look, I used these products:
The Face Shop Sun Screen
EGM facial primer
Pure Luxe base: Creamy Natural
Pure Luxe finishing powder: Translucent Matte

Cheeks:
EGM Platinum blush: Zirconium gem color blush

Lips:
The Body Shop: Soft Red

Eyes:
EGM eye primer
EGM Platinum color gem: smokey quartz gem eye color on lid
EGM: Red Berlina on crease
EGM liquid eye liner in caviar
Revlon 3D Extreme mascara in black

I didn't like the finishing I had. I think I put too much base, and the base color seemed too bright on me.
The eyeshadow didn't bring out the color. This is not the brown color I expected. Maybe I didn't apply enough pigment? Because if you see the pigment, the color is like chocolate milk color, I love it. But somehow, when it was on my lid, the color is ugly.
Also the blush..... Arrrghhh, it's not good on me...

I like how The Body Shop lipstick appear on my lips. It can cover the ugliness of my shadow color.

After I finished applying everything, my face looked weird, it has flaws with the make up. I don't know where I went wrong. Then, after let it sink for awhile, they blended and looked more natural (thank God!)

Aww look at those pores.....
Hey, looking at the last picture, it should be OK.

Well, I need more practice and experimenting so I will know which one is best for me.

The Body Shop Sale and its new lipsticks

I always check out what's new at The Body Shop.
When I went to Puri Mall after work yesterday, I saw their sale.
Thinking to buy new lipstick. Hey, they've got 3 for 2. You buy 2 lipsticks and you get 1 free lipstick.
So, I called my sister and asked whether she needed new lipstick. She said yes. The effort taken was to choose right color for her and for me is some new or different colors.

Result:
No. 14 - Pink Ginger, for my sister
No. 21 - Soft Red
No. 49 - Berry Shimmer
Total IDR 278,000
I love the texture of this lipstick. I had one from The Body Shop, but it's matte. When I have dry lips, it's difficult to apply on my lips.

Oh, I also bought nail buffer (IDr 30,000)

From top: No. 14 - Pink Ginger, No. 21 - Soft Red, No. 49 - Berry Shimmer

Body Souffle from Moea Spa

How can I miss this nice product?

I have been taking Tahitian Noni Juice regularly for my health, I have been using daily regimen for oily skin from TePoema range, and I need to have Moea Spa products.
To begin with, I bought Body Souffle, price IDR 188,000. I don't like greasy feeling after I apply some body lotion after shower. My Nivea UV Body Protection can't absorb right away.

Body Souffle has banana aroma and contain macadamia nut oil, noni seed oil, cocoa seed butter and shea butter. It's such an exotic smell.
It's lighter than Moea Body Butter.

You can buy Moea Spa products here for Indonesia market.

Product review from yesterday's shopping (Himalaya Herbals & Skin Food)

It's time to check out the products and try 'em....
Just a reminder, two days ago I bought:
- Skin Food Aloe Sun BB Cream SPF 20 PA+, shade no. 2
- Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Wash, and
- Himalaya Herbals Gentle Exfoliating Apricot Scrub

Skin Food Aloe Sun BB Cream SPF 20 PA+, shade no. 2
This is my first time to buy and try BB Cream.

Just applied on the skin

Rubbed and let it blend. Not bad....

So I'd use this BB cream with my mineral make up, or whenever I'm in a hurry.
I'd still apply my eye cream and moisturizer before putting on BB Cream.

Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Wash
The facial wash is 100% herbal actives. Contains Neem adn Turmeric. It's soap free! Yay, you can see from the picture I took below.
According to Wikipedia, in India, the Neem tree is variously known as "Divine Tree," "Heal All," "Nature's Drugstore," "Village Pharmacy" and "Panacea for all diseases." Products made from neem have proven medicinal properties, being anthelmintic, antifungal, antidiabetic, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fertility, and sedative. It is considered a major component in Ayurvedic medicine and is particularly prescribed for skin disease.
In Ayurvedic practices, turmeric is thought to have many medicinal properties and many in South Asia use it as a readily available antiseptic for cuts, burns and bruises. It is also used as an antibacterial agent.
That explains why both of the ingredients are good for oily skin.

After washing my face with this, my skin didn't feel tight and dry at all.

The green gel

Rubbed with water, you can't see bubbles there cos it's soap free!

Himalaya Herbals Gentle Exfoliating Apricot Scrub
This contains Apricot kernel granules, wheatgerm oil, and Apple.
I use this twice a week. Look at the granules.
Suitable for all skin types.

After Eid Fitri Shopping (hauls)

Ahhh, Eid Fitri festivity has just been over three days ago, spent two days at home to clean up the house, and then I had a chance to go out yesterday to renew the car license.
So I decided to call up my college friend who live near by and checked if I can go to her house. Fortunately, she was planning to have lunch at Taman Anggrek Mall with her family, so I said that I'd meet her there.
Well, as I can predict, since she brought her two girls and a niece, she had lunch at KFC. Not much to expect at KFC, so I just ordered Twister. I planned to have another round for lunch after that :)

We did some catching ups and then we split up.

Some blogs mentioned about BB cream and I was wondering what it was.
Check out a post about BB cream here.
Yesterday, I was in search of BB Cream at that mall, hehehe..... Went to Etude shop first, phewww, the price was expensive, man! IDR 298,000.... Ummm, not in my budget, cos I read in an online shop at multiply.com, the price is in range of IDR 160,000-200,000.

Soooo, I went downstairs, heading to Skin Food store. Oh goody, they have BB cream!
I picked Aloe Sun BB Cream SPF 20 PA+, shade no. 2, price: IDR 186,000.
What it said about the product:
Rich with aloe, which possesses excellent hydrating properties and soothing effect, this multi-functional skin care product (UV protector & blemish corrector) provides moisture and nutrition to your skin while providing protection from UV rays.

The SPG said I will not need face powder. Wearing this is enough when you want a basic make up.

I looked around the shop, but didn't buy anymore cos I need to save money, ehmm... check out next adventure:

Next to Skin Food store is Himalaya Herbals store. This brand comes from India, famous for their herbal treatment, ayurvedic way. I thought they only sell herb pills and capsules, but that day I saw their facial care. Hmmm..... Shall I try? I need facial wash and exfoliator to be kept at my sister's place.
After after listening to SPG's products "information" a.k.a promotion of each product, I chose Purifying Neem Face Wash (IDR 59,000) and Gentle Exfoliating Apricot Scrub (IDR 69,000). Another type of scrub is Almond Scrub, but I wanted to try this Apricot Scrub.

I went home with a big smile. I wonder why shopping can give you such a satisfaction feeling? Scarry.....
